Upper GI Endoscopy (EGD)

What is it?

An Upper Endoscopy is a procedure that allows a healthcare provider to examine the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum using an endoscope. The endoscope is a thin, flexible, lighted tube that provides a visual of the lining of these organs. It also blows air into the stomach, allowing for a better view for examination.
