Alaska Digestive and Liver DiseaseDr. McClendon is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. After completing his internal medicine residency, he remained on staff as the Chief of Residents before completing his fellowship training in gastroenterology. He served in the United States Air Force for nine years before opening his digestive disease practice in Anchorage in 2000. Additionally, Dr. McClendon has served in numerous leadership positions with various hospital committees including the Providence Alaska Medical Executive Committee, six years on the Board of Governors for the American College of Gastroenterology, and has dedicated many hours of service with Boy Scouts of America. Dr. McClendon enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology and the many great outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer.
