Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

What is it?

A flexible sigmoidoscopy is a procedure that allows a healthcare provider to examine the lining of the distal colon using a sigmoidoscope. The flexible sigmoidoscope is a long flexible tube with a tiny video camera on the end. It is passed through the anus and the sigmoid colon to present a visual of any abnormalities within the area.

  • "From my first phone call to his office and subsequent video conferencing with Dr. McClendon did I realize that I had got the right Doctor. My interaction with his staff and him were amazing. For a person that is anxious and reluctant to go to doctors, they made me feel at ease."
