Digestive Diseases and Disorders

Symptoms of a gastrointestinal problem include:
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Abdominal Pain
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Bloating
If you have severe gastrointestinal problems, you should have your gastroenterologist test for digestive diseases.
Liver Disease, Symptoms and Diagnosis
The liver is a vital organ that supports many of the body's organs, but it is also susceptible to a variety of diseases. Some of the more common diseases that affect the liver are Hepatitis A, B, C, E, cancer, cirrhosis, fatty liver, and drug and alcohol damage.
Some of the main symptoms of liver disease include:
- Jaundice
- Excessive fatigue
- Pale stools
- Dark urine
- Swelling of feet, ankles, and abdomen
- Easily bruising or bleeding
Diagnosing liver disease is done with blood tests that can determine the extent of damage to the liver. Sometimes CT scans or ultrasound tests, or a biopsy may be needed to gain additional information about the extent of liver damage.
