Anchorage Gastroenterologists visit Capitol Hill to encourage support of the SCREEN ACT
Drs. Richard Farleigh and Daryl McClendon visited with the legislative offices of U.S. Representative Don Young and U.S. Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski to ask for support of the SCREEN Act (HR 3198, Senate Bill pending). The SCREEN Act lowers the barriers for Medicare beneficiaries to be screened for colorectal cancer. "This bill is budget neutral and will save money in the long term by preventing many colorectal cancers from developing," says Dr. McClendon.
