Video Capsule Endoscopy

What is it?

A Video Capsule Endoscopy is a procedure that uses a small wireless camera to take pictures of your digestive tract. This procedure allows a healthcare provider to view the inside of your small intestine. As the capsule travels through your digestive tract, it captures multiple photos that are transmitted to a recorder held in a belt that you wear around your waist throughout the duration of the procedure.
